Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic

Dear me! Today I saw Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. There has been a lot of talk about this film as being inspired by Marry Poppins and will it stand up to the expectations that Kunal Kohli had created from Hum Tum and Fana etc. (Er… did I say Fana? Yeah! Fana it self was not impressive for me.) Anyway I saw the film today.

The film is fairy story mixed with Indian sentiments. I guess this is what the writer said to convince the producer and eventually the producer to the distributor (both are same though!) but the audience said what the hell! The film is week in the script department. I had liked the script of Hum Tum. Though it was inspired by When Harry met Sally, I thought the Indian version was quite fresh attempt. But Fana nah… and now TPTM… NO!

Saawariya

Saawariya

After I saw this film, I am really worrying about market aspect of Indian film industry.

Finally, as yet another film which I had missed out earlier, I saw Saawariya. I had heard a lot of bad things about this film. I had been informed that this is sheer waste of time, waste of money etc. but honestly, I found this a good film! Yes, its not a classic. But it’s a good film. When this was released along with Om Shanti Om, there was a huge fight between these for market share. Om Shanti Om emerged as a winner. I am scared now. I saw Om Shanti Om as well. It is just another masala film. Where as Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saawariya is a bold attempt in Indian cinema which was not appreciated by most of the people!

Bhootnath

Bhootnath

Ah! I saw Bhoot Naath!

After a long time, I found some time to catch up with some of the films which I wanted to watch but had missed them when they hit the screen. Bhootnaath was the latest one I saw in DVD.

It has bad script, bad direction, mostly bad acting, and looks like the film was conceived in great hurry and made as a mixture of some old English films and served in BR film format (the Baagbaan style!)

Jaane Tu...

Jaane Tu...

“There is this boy and a girl. They are in love. For some reasons they aren’t able to express their feelings towards each other; some drama in between and some emotions floating around. Some gray characters, some dedicated friends. Lead lady decides to escape from the reality. Hero figures out its now or never! Climax in the airport! Some tears and a happy ending.” Yes what is new in this?
