It is a matter of immense pleaure to know one of our promising talent has gained early recongnition in the career. I had a chance in 2003 or so, to see one of the short films shot by Abhaya and his friends from FTII, Pune. It was a fulfilling experience. With the kind of literary lineage in the blood (GTN, G.N.Ashokvardhan). inheritance of values like creative sensitivity towards the society around us, together with unorthodox, free and liberal environment Abhaya has grown in, I am sure Abhaya can go places in his chosen realm of moviedom. Though we have not got the pleasure of seeing the current Award winning film Gubbachigalu, I am sure in his next assignment “Shikari”, with Mamooty in the starcast, we may just about see the evolving Abhay getting recognition both among the classes and the masses.

I had a chance to organize and watch ‘Gubbacchigalu’ last year at Delhi Karnataka Sangha and expected an award for the film. After the show, I contacted GT Narayana Rao and expressed my satisfaction about Abhaya’s talant. Now all come true, but we are missing GTN,
